When I originally reported this I neglected to supply my email. I am still quite concerned about this issue. I am not able to recreate it on demand, for two reasons. First, the RSS feed is from our production newsletter. Second, our staff is on holiday break. But I do hope you will look into this.
Thanks.

Joan,
I did look into this the same night I responded to your other posting. I am not sure what happened on the 18th, but it looks like maybe your bot was updated and started working again. I looked at your feed and it did post everything that was currently in it.
Which post from your feed is it that you are missing in the twitter account?

I am out of the office, returning Monday, January 4th, 2010. I will respond to your message when I return. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Josh,
The malfunction occurred on the date I reported it: 12/22/09. Our feed had three items that day, and they can be viewed at this URL: http://cdlinfo.cdlib.org/blog/2009/12/
Even though the individual items have separate dates, they are sent out together again as a single send once a month as a newsletter. For December, this happened on 12/22/09. Ever since we enabled the RSS feed bot, these have turned into tweets for @caldiglib. However, if you go to http://twitter.com/CalDigLib you will see that nothing has been posted since the repetive RTs caused by the malfunction of the DM bot on 12/18/09.
Is this a clear description of the problem?
Thanks,
Joan Starr

Joan,
When I look at the feed, I see three items posted in December. The feed has them dated as Dec 18th and two on Dec 7th. You can see the Dec 18th post tweeted here (http://twitter.com/CalDigLib/status/6808639632), and the two Dec 7th posts here (http://twitter.com/CalDigLib/status/6444973398 and http://twitter.com/CalDigLib/status/6434814374).
The Dec 7th posts don't say "from tweet hopper" because we were in the middle of switching from our old twitter source to our new one, so it just says "from web".
Hope that clears things up, we did in fact tweet everything in your feed, and all within less than 10 minutes of the post going live on the feed.

Hi Josh,
Okay, I found them. We're good. Thanks for tracking this.
Hey, I didn't ever get a response to my request for the non-profit in-kind account. Did you make a determination on that?
Thanks!

Hi Josh,
We just had a new article sent through the feed and all we got was the headline without a link to the actual article, which is what we used to get. Any idea why?
It basically makes for a worthless tweet without the link to the article...

Joan,
The issue had to do with bit.ly not working. I plan to focus on adding more shorteners, and on detecting shorten failings and using the next service in the line (we will likely support 5 or 6 of them). There will be an announcement on the blog (http://cooking.fourbeansoup.com) and on the twitter account, when the feature launches.
